European buyers aren't asking if you've gone green. They're asking why you haven't. Solar-as-a-Service hands you the answer — and lowers your power bill doing it.
This is the direct line route: generation on your own roof or your own land, wired straight to your switchboard over a private connection line. If you want clean power at a scale your site can't physically host, that runs through the national grid instead — see Virtual DPPA.
A lower electricity cost you can put in a budget, insulation from grid tariff increases on the solar share of your load, and metered evidence of clean power for the buyers who now ask for it — without spending your own capital or taking on an engineering project.
Blueberry Energy funds, designs, builds, and operates a custom solar system on your factory rooftop. You sign a Power Purchase Agreement — a contract to buy the clean electricity our system generates, at a tariff contractually set below the EVN rate you pay today. The discount is fixed in your PPA before you sign, so you know exactly what you are getting.
No upfront cost. No maintenance burden. No performance risk. The system sits on your roof, but the investment, the engineering, and the operational headaches — those sit with us.
We invest the CapEx — design, equipment, installation, commissioning. Your balance sheet stays clean. Your CFO stays happy.
Your PPA tariff is contractually set below the EVN rate you pay today, and the price path is fixed for the contract term.
Generation is metered, documented and available as I-RECs — the evidence base your RE100 and CDP reporting runs on. We produce the data; you present it to your buyers.
Vietnam's Direct Power Purchase Agreement framework lets a renewable generator sell electricity straight to an industrial or commercial user, instead of everything flowing through EVN. There are two routes. This is the physical one — and below, how we deliver it.
The generation sits on your site — your roof, your car park, your land. The electricity reaches you over a private connection line that runs from the system to your own receiving point. It never enters the national grid, so it carries no transmission or distribution charge. You consume it where it is made.
Physical delivery, physical savings. Best for users with usable roof or land and a solid daytime load.
The generator can be anywhere in Vietnam — a solar or wind farm hundreds of kilometres away. Power is sold into the market, you keep buying from EVN, and a contract-for-difference settles the price between you and the generator.
A financial arrangement, not a wire. Best for volumes far larger than your own site can generate.
We build the system on your premises and connect it to your electrical infrastructure behind your EVN meter. Under the DPPA rules a private connection line expressly includes the line running from rooftop solar to the buyer's receiving point — so the structure is squarely within the framework, not a workaround.
You sign a PPA with us covering tariff, term, metering, performance and what happens at the end. The price is freely negotiated between the two parties — the DPPA framework sets no price cap or state-mandated tariff for this route. What you agree is what applies.
You pay us only for the solar kWh you actually consume, measured at a dedicated meter. Whatever the system doesn't cover, you keep buying from EVN exactly as before. Your grid connection stays in place — solar reduces your bill, it does not replace your supply.
Systems are sized to your own consumption, so surplus is designed out rather than sold. Where a site does export, the rules cap sales to EVN at a share of actual generation and set the price by reference to the previous year's average market price. Where export isn't permitted or wanted, a zero-export device handles it.
Four stages, measured in months rather than years, and no interruption to your production.
Our engineers visit your facility. We assess your roof structure, electricity consumption profile, grid connection and shading, and we confirm how your site qualifies under the DPPA rules. You receive a technical feasibility report — no cost, no obligation.
We design your system for maximum yield and minimum disruption, sized to your own load profile rather than to your roof area. Your PPA proposal sets out the tariff, the price path for the full term, performance commitments and end-of-term options in plain language. No hidden clauses. No escalation traps.
We handle the regulatory work — fire safety, construction approvals, grid coordination, and the DPPA notifications that go to the local administration, the industrial park, and the power company. Selling direct to a large customer exempts the system from the rooftop registration procedure, which takes a step out of the path. Our certified crews then install Tier 1 equipment while your factory keeps producing.
The system goes live and your savings start with the first billing period. Our operations centre monitors performance, manages maintenance and delivers monthly generation reports — the same data that feeds your ESG reporting. For the life of the contract, your only role is to consume cleaner, cheaper power.
Two things decide it: whether you meet the consumption threshold the DPPA rules set, and whether your site can physically host a system worth building. The first is a legal test. The second is an engineering one. We check both before anyone signs anything.
Participation in the direct power purchase mechanism is open to electricity users consuming at least 20,000 kWh per month on average.
The same threshold governs both DPPA routes — the direct line described on this page and the grid route alike. Clearing it opens both doors; falling short closes both.
Not sure where you sit? It is on your EVN bill, and we will read it with you.
Three things decide whether a system is worth building on your site:
Usable area. Roof, car park or land that is clear, structurally sound and has enough remaining life to carry a system for the contract term.
A daytime load. Solar generates when the sun is up. The better your consumption matches that curve, the more of the system's output you use and the more you save. Single-shift daytime operations are the strongest fit; heavy night-shift loads need a different conversation.
Control of the roof. Either you own the building, or your landlord will grant the rights for the term. See below if you lease.
The straightforward case. You control the roof, you sign the PPA, and eligibility turns on the consumption threshold and the condition of the structure.
Still workable, and easier than it was. The amended framework recognises industrial park and cluster retail units as participants in their own right. Three parties have to align — you, your landlord or park operator, and us — so we bring them in early. The length of your lease against the term of the PPA is usually the deciding factor.
The DPPA mechanism is closed to you for now — both routes — but solar is not. A self-consumption rooftop system sits outside the DPPA framework entirely and can still cut your bill. If you run several sites, combined consumption across the group may clear the threshold where one site alone does not. Tell us your consumption and we will evaluate all options.
A direct line DPPA delivers actual electricity to you over a private connection line from a generator on your own site — the model on this page. A virtual DPPA is a financial contract: the generator can be anywhere in Vietnam, the power flows through the national grid, you keep buying from EVN, and a contract-for-difference settles the price. Direct line suits what your own roof can produce; virtual suits volumes far beyond it. Many industrial users end up doing both. See Virtual DPPA.
It means exactly that. Blueberry Energy funds 100% of the system — design, equipment, installation, and commissioning. You pay nothing upfront. No hidden fees. The PPA or leasing fees are consumption linked, and the cost per kWh is lower than your current EVN tariff.
Your PPA tariff is set below the EVN rate you pay today, so every solar kWh you consume costs you less than the grid equivalent. How much that adds up to depends on your factory's location, which determines solar irradiation and so how much the system produces; on your tariff band; on how much of your load falls in daylight hours; on how much usable roof you have; and on your project's specific requirements. That is why we model it on your actual consumption data rather than quote an average. The saving compounds over the contract as grid tariffs rise while your solar rate stays on its agreed path.
Blueberry Energy owns, operates, and maintains the system for the contract duration. You own the savings. At contract end, the system is transferred to you at no charge, so you can keep using the power it generates. If you would rather not keep it, we remove it at no cost.
Months rather than years, from signed PPA to first electrons. Permitting, equipment delivery, and installation and commissioning run largely in sequence, and a straightforward rooftop moves considerably faster than one needing structural work or a complex landlord consent — so we give you a dated schedule with the PPA proposal rather than a generic number here. Production is not disrupted during installation.
No. We conduct a full structural assessment before every installation. Our mounting systems are non-penetrating for flat roofs.
We size systems to your own consumption, so on a well-designed project surplus is minimal by construction. Where a site does export, the rules cap sales to EVN at a share of actual generation and set the price by reference to the previous year's average market price. Where export is not permitted or not wanted, the system runs behind a zero-export device.
Factories, warehouses, logistics centres, cold stores, commercial buildings and industrial park tenants across Vietnam. Whether your site qualifies is set out under Who Qualifies above — and the site assessment tells you where you stand, at no cost.
Every month without solar is money paid to EVN that should be staying in your business. Start with a free site assessment — no cost, no obligation.
